Preston Heritage. More Photos

M00R Park.                                                     Is Vic remembering in his dim and distant past, crossing a bridge here, to get to the paddling pool,

The information board tells us about the temporary military hospital that was sited near by to treat war wounded. One of four hospitals in Preston which catered for the wounded of the First World War. Two of the original buildings still exist, at the headquarters of the sea cadets on Strand Rd.

St Walburge's
Looking up the inside of the steeple.

Looking east. Behind the green and white facade of UCLAN's Media Factory is St Peters Church. Now also part of UCLAN.

Looking west. Preston Dock and Marina.

St Marks church and the Blackpool Railway line. When as children, coming back from Blackpool, we passed St Walburge's steeple, we knew that very soon we would be pulling into Preston Station.

A tour of the church with canon Tanner.

A statue of The Baby Jesus of Prague, in the vestry.

A late lunch in Avenham Park, whilst sheltering from a heavy shower.
