The North wind doth blow and we shall have snow
and what will our walkers do then.... poor guys
They'll slip on the ice and trudge through the snow
and declare that a walk is not.... wise !

After your writer promised that our walks would be back on "track" this week dire weather warnings and actual conditions changed our minds. SORRY..... fingers crossed for next week.
Many years ago when the Meanderthals got together to walk each Thursday we didn't walk during the few weeks either side of the festive season. Bad weather kept us indoors with our families.
Some years later as children had grown up and we were at our peak of fitness, ( the words "Peak" and "Fitness" should be taken in context and with a large pinch of salt.) we had acquired full sets of water and cold proof gear and walked all the time, oblivious of the weather conditions.
Of course "Peaks" are often twinned with "Troughs". No.... we are not in the troughs but anything much larger than a hump backed bridge over a canal can be considered a peak of sorts. Legs and lungs which once took us up steep rocky slopes can no longer be relied on to carry us more than a few miles and the largest climb might often be the steps up into a cosy cafe at lunchtime.
BUT....... after all those years we are still together ......... AND STILL WALKING ! 😃
