Only four of us today. John has already donned the yellow Jersey in anticipation of winning the trophy !! What trophy? Exactly, 😅 cyclists on electric bikes are disqualified from winning trophies. From our start point at Caton we set off along the disused railway line towards Lancaster. This is one of two almost identical bridges that carried the railway over the Crook-o-Lune.Five miles on, at the end of the redundant railway line we arrive at Lancaster where we take a break, (not the only stop we have had i might add, some walkers were beginning to think we were stalking them), to have our morning brew. The railway track is ended but we continue following the River Lune along King Georges Quay.Unfortunately I couldn't get a better angle to record this incident for posterity but this is what happened. Mike, who was cycling behind John was saying something to him. John, not being able to hear what Mike was saying, braked, for Mike to catch up. Mike was not quick enough with his reactions, and ran in the back of him. Sorry Mike, but I'll have to deduct 10 points for that. 😡 I almost came a cropper myself as I took this photo whilst cycling along.Puffing and panting, I had to dismount as we climbed the steep hill up to Aldcliffe. John and Anthony however had no problem on their e-bikes. Likewise this young lady coming up the hill from the other side didn't have a problem. John asked her if he could take her photo. Certainly she said, neigh said the horse, to late though, he'd already taken it.😊 Dinner time in this little haven along side the Lancaster canal, on our way back to the city. Approaching the Water Witch pub on the canal side.We leave the canal, drop down and pass under the famous Lune Aqueduct to rejoin the old railway track, back to the cars. Thanks Mike, a very enjoyable bike ride.
