OH DEAR !
Just thought you might like to know.
As I was writing the last "Match Report" there was a programme on the telly which was rather disturbing. During the last six years more than eighty (80) bodies have been pulled out of Manchester's canals. The larger proportion from the stretch along which we walked.
Many were young men who had gone out for the evening and never returned. Others could have been rough sleepers under the arches and tunnels.
Gangs and muggers were on the suspicion list as some appeared to have been robbed. Rumours have spread that a serial killer "The Pusher" is responsible for some of them. The programme showed the police patrolling the very stretches we were on last Thursday.
