Kirkby Lonsdale. (A Devil of a walk) More photos.

A clear blue sky and a forecast of more of the same, was a promising start to this weeks walk.

Some of the many yellow poppies growing wild in this part of Cumbria.

Fortunate we were, that on reaching Devils Bridge, there was an abundance of empty seats to choose from for our lunch. Had it been the weekend, we wouldn't have been so lucky.

The nearby more modern but less picturesque bridge.

"Definitely goin' on that diet" (writes John)

All you need is a comb to "Garden" a head

Lunch over, we set off along the river towards the town of Kirkby Lonsdale.

St Mary's church in the town

A short walk from the town centre saw us back at the cars.
A shandy was provided for all courtesy of Anthony, and the sun is
still shining on us for our journey home. What more could we want for?
