Lancaster Halton. More Photos

Despite the dismal weather forecast of strong winds and rain, the turnout was quite good. Fortunately for us the wind was from the south, so not too cold.

The first part of our walk was uphill, but that was o.k, what goes up must come down.

Mike is modelling the outdoor wet wear collection, while John is waiting to follow up with the xxx range

Like most other former psychiatric hospitals, Lancaster Moor is
also being redeveloped for housing.

The final climb uphill to.......

......the Ashton Memorial, where we had our late morning coffee in the cafe next to the Butterfly House, followed by lunch in the memorial.

Doubly fuelled up, we set off back. From here it was downhill all the way.

Arriving at the canal tow path we turned our backs on the city and headed back towards Halton.

The owner of this garden was obviously a dog lover.

The magnificent Lune aqueduct carrying the canal over the river.
