ALMUNECAR SPAIN

SUNNY DAZE - A WEEK IN SPAIN

Anthony, Martin, Danny and John......

.....have a short but much awaited and appreciated break  in sunny Spain.

After many hours (literally) spent wrangling with the complicated forms required by the Covid restrictions, four members of our Meanderthal group arrived in Spain. This was not before John W was marched off to the Spanish  customs "Correction Centre" as the form he had filled in was for a child. "You are not a child senor !" said the customs officer. (Well spotted) JW was very politely and efficiently "Corrected".

Martin and Anthony were very soon in Holiday mode (and dress)

As was Danny here seen enjoying a drinks break with Barbara his wife.

John's wife Val was also with us.

Coffee breaks did not take the usual route of searching for a dry spot. Dragging seats and flasks out of rucksacks. Then trying to park one's backside on the least uncomfortable and wet spot.           Drinks breaks were very civilised

The refreshments, too,  were rather more appealing.

The Spanish were very firm on the wearing of masks. and the forgetful amongst us were constantly being reminded, "Your mask Senor !"

The hotel had entertainers every evening. Anthony and Martin are watching the Flamenco Dancer.  She was brilliant . Her feet at times were just blur. The singer , however, was not brilliant.   Indeed her high pitched "Screaming" was actually quite painful to the ears.

We did actually do some walking in Spain. Martin and Anthony are seen walking down the "Balcon D'Europe" in Nerja

Danny sits and admires the view from the "Balcon". and just look at those sunny , blue skies . Temperatures up to 25. Reports from back home told us it was cold and wet.

Whilst John appears to have been shopping prior to joining  them on the "Balcon".

Look at those blue skies again.

Does Danny look a little uncomfortable with his company  ?   .........  Never !

Spanish cats know where to find a nice warm spot

And here we have "Moto Moggy".

More walking. During a trip to the spectacular "Lecrin Valley" and it's reservoirs.

Good heavens......... It's "Beau Danny"    all dressed up for the cocktail evening.

.....and who wears a shirt like this ? Here's a clue. "He was always smart in the evenings".

More pesky paperwork to get us home but the superb weather, the fabulous Hotel and the delighful staff all made a great week for the Meanderthals and their companions.  THANK YOU  Hilary, the group leader and organiser.

...and so back to our more familiar walks in England's Green and Pleasant and cold and wet and muddy and windy ......... land

THE END
JW
