Albir - Costa Blanca - Spain

Four Meanderthals, John W, Martin, Danny and Anthony are holidaying with some friends in Albir on Spain's Costa Blanca.
Below are some pics from the start of the holiday.....

The view of the peomenade and beach in front of our Hotel, the Hotel Kaktus Albir.

Certainly beats a soggy Thursday in Lancashire.

Looking north along the beach towards Altea and Calpe.
The iconic outcrop of rock (Ifach) at Calpe can be seen, extreme right.

Another view of the "Rock of Ifach.)

The marina between Albir and Altea

Siesta time?

The 'Blue Church' at Altea

More of the Blue Church.
The structure being built, centre front, is probably going to be a 'Santa's Grotto'. (Where's Vic when you need him?)

The view from the church of Altea and Albir in the distance.

......a new day.......

The famous (or infamous) Levante beach at BENIDORM!!

Martin with our Associate Meanderthals.
(Hilary, Barbara, Grace and Mary)

The Polente beach from the 'Old Town' headland between the two beaches.

Another view of Levante beach

Part of the Old Town on the headland.

The large building is meant to look like Big Ben (bell-tower) in London.

The top of another very large tower block.....
......and the rest of it!

Sampling hot chocolate and churitos.

The churitos are dipped in the thick, hot chocolate.

On the over-crowded service bus back to Albir, we were entertained by a 'Benidorm busker'.

.......another day.......

Danny led Martin and Anthony on a walk from the hotel to a lighthouse on the headland on the bay of Albir.
(Total distance: 5 miles)

What's Danny taking a picture of...?

......Oh....Them!

John went up by himself on another day.

The Associate Meanderthals caught up with us.

No ! John wasn't by himself.

Another view of Calpe.

Arriving at the lighthouse.

The view of Albir from the lighthouse

Someone making a quick getaway??
