Preston Seven Parks' Walk - Part 2

Exactly twelve months ago we walked the first five of Preston's Seven Parks' Walk. These were Moor Park, Haslem Park, Ashton Park, Miller Park and Avenham Park.
Today, we completed the walk by starting from Moor Park and visiting Avenham (again) followed by Grange Park and the Brookfield Linear Park ending at Deepdale Road and returning to our cars on Moor Park.

Distance: 8.4 miles

Booting-up on Moor Park car park.
(Watched by Martin who came to say he couldn't come!)

24 hours of almost non-stop rain presented some serious hazards with worse to follow.

The remains of the former entrance to St Ignatius' Primary School (long since demolished)

The house in Cross Street
where John R made his 'debut' into the world.

The sculpture marking the site of
The Simpsons Gold Thread factory.

In the centre/background is the former hospital where Vic and John W's wife Val made their  debuts. John W and possibly other Meanderthals made their debuts across town at Mount St.

Avenham Colonade

The 'Harris Institute' (former School of Art)
still up for sale after many years!

Two 'big guns' in Avenham Park!

Of course there had to be a 'bridge photo'
before the end of the walk!
