Lancaster. More Photos

Due to traffic problems on the way to Lancaster, our walk was late getting underway, and it was not long before (g)rumblings could be heard. "I'm hungry". " Well you should have had some breakfast before you came out". "I had two jam toasties and I only usually have one". "Oh alright then".

Penny's alms houses and chapel.

A gentleman we met at the entrance to the castle gave us directions to the cell block of the now defunct prison. Following his directions we entered the ground floor of the three storey block

John and Jim inspect one of the very small cells.

When we exited the prison we were three meanderthals short. "Has anyone seen them?" " No." " Where can they be?" "Have they been locked up?".........We found them outside St Mary's Priory church. They had stopped to talk to a white rabbit! Honestly you couldn't make it up. And did not see us going through the doorway into the prison.
