Astley Park, Chorley

Leaving the car park at Astley Hall, we passed some lovely flower displays, that are a credit to the gardening team.

Leaving the manicured lawns behind, we entered the woods. Woodland was the dominant feature of this walk, but the paths were well maintained. Considering the amount of rain we've had
recently, the River Chor was remarkably unaffected and meanders along unconcerned.

As do we

Anthony and Martin wait patiently for our leaders directions.

The tree of the week. It was more impressive than it appears in the photo. Honest it was.

Brew time

After skirting round the perimeter of the park we re-entered it from Southport Rd

As we emerged from the woods, looking for somewhere to have lunch, the rain, which had been waiting for us to come out into the open, began to come down heavier.

Happy Birthday Anthony.

Many Many thanks Martin.
