ROVING REPORTS

 MORE FROM OUR ROVING REPORTERS

Harry Who has a dry wit and a wealth of witty tales and odes has sent us this cautionary tale. On our walks we are careful to follow official footpaths and rights of way and have VERY rarely had any sort of confrontation with landowners.... BUT....

Here lies the body of walker Gray

Who died defending his right of way

He was right - so right as he walked along

But he's just as dead as if he'd been wrong

Thanks HARRY

VIC   Who roams the streets of his village keeping his "fit bit" busy and chatting (accosting ?) to folks he meets on the way tells us that in the idle moments brought about by the lockdown he decided to "Prune" his collection of caps He had fifteen in all. At least one of his caps he found on one of our walks as it floated in the shallows of a river. When retrieved it was quite lively (you will understand what I mean) However, after suitable cleansing and one supposes disinfection he found it suitable to wear. He has not informed us as to the style of the retained caps.

His hats included nine (9) flat caps of various designs and hues Some with ear flaps and some waterproof. He also has some special caps. e.g. Santa hat, bush hat, skull cap and two beanies. Eventually he got them down to eight or nine which he considered a reasonable number.

Vic signed off as "fat man in a flat cap" this is quite self deprecating of him and is quite wrong. Some of the caps are not all that flat.

Thanks VIC
