NO BLOG

WHAT !     NO BLOG ?

Apologies to all our readers , particularly those who contacted us to ask "Why no blog ?".  Apart from a truncated report by Danny on August 19th.......SILENCE !

I See  no Walkers.🙍

Well, on that Thursday , John , the other writer, was enjoying a day at Southport flower show with Val his wife.

This was a joint birthday present from their children and included afternoon tea in the pavilion. Delightful !

The following Thursday, AUGUST 25TH,
the Meanderthals, with wives and friends, were in John's  garden enjoying the sunshine and a BBQ . with lots to eat and drink .  Mostly soft drinks , tea and coffee, as they had to drive home.

So again NO walk. 😒😒

Thursday SEPTEMBER 1st ..... Again no walk   A walk had been planned but at this time of year schools are beginning the autumn term.

This invariably means grandparents are called upon to look after children who are not yet back in school but whose parents ARE back at work. And there are final family gatherings to end the summer break. Many of our Meanderthals are grandparents...  So....   only two Meanderthals were available to walk.  John and Anthony (for it was they) decided that the planned walk could wait till other walkers were with us. They  picked up Martin (no longer a regular walker) and headed for Sizergh Castle and Kendal.   Sizergh was "Heaving". Cars queueing to get in. WE LEFT and found a quieter refuge at a farm shop where leisurely mid morning tea and scones were "Demolished".

After which we continued north to Kendal. A gentle stroll along Kendal's handsome high street before lunch was taken in a small cafe. Then a slow amble back to the car before driving home after an extremely pleasant sunny outing.

Could that be a Meanderthal ?   Walking  ? .. No !

Possibly NO WALK next week either as a bike ride is promised ... but... there will be a blog.... I hope !

😊😊😊

Indeed. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.
