| Having arrived at Cleveleys for the start of our bike ride, the weather was dry for the time being. |

| The weather forecasts earlier that morning were contradictory. Wildly contradictory. But meanderthals being an optomistic bunch, took no notice of the gloom monger in their midst. |

| As I was saying, meanderthals being an optimistic bunch, left all their bikes unlocked, outside Rossall Point viewing tower, while they went inside for morning coffee. |
