Today's excursion took us over the border from Montenegro into north-west Albania and the city of Shkoder.
Our guide for the day was a young Albanian called 'Andy'! He spoke very good English and was an excellent guide. |
He took us first of all to the Castle Rozafa, the former home of the King of Albania. This involved transferring to minibuses, which took us up the steep, rocky track to the castle. |
There at last! |
From here the view was magnificent, looking towards the city of Shkoder. |
The flag of Albania has the double-headed eagle - signifying looking out in all directions. |

Waiting to be fed! |
Mary, Grace and Hilary also waiting to be fed.... |
The lunch......Don't ask what it is....but was very nice and only cost six euros. |
