More Photos. Catterall

From the start of our walk, (Catterall Village Hall), on the bank
of the river Calder, we headed west. The Calder soon merged with the larger river Wyre. Sandwiched between the two is one of the greens of Garstang Golf Course. Not an ideal course for the amature golfer.

Leaving the river behind we process along the above track, soon to be wedged between houses on both sides. The diggers had already moved onto the site.

After crossing the B6430 we head in an easterly direction down Stones Lane

Elevenses on the banks of the river/brook, and we are all treated to a warming hot toddy.......

Having run out of road and squelched our way through muddy farmland, the way ahead looked much improved but the noise from the nearby M6 was beginning to offend our ears.

A noisy but necessary evil.....No not you Vic

Italasappensdunit. As soon as ya get sat down for lunch, a visitor comes........ Glad you could meet up with us though Mike

A friendly farmer who's land we crossed advised us to follow the canal tow path to Garstang if we wanted to avoid more wet ground.

The ruins of Greenhalgh Castle on the opposite side of the canal

Leaving the canal at this basin we headed back to the start of our walk and home. DK
