| Rush hour over, we all managed to get a seat on the Mersey Rail Service. (We were not so fortunate on our way back), at the end of our walk. From Liverpool Central a long escalator took us down to the Wirral line, where we continued on the New Brighton train to Wallasey Grove Road station. |

| An early lunch was the order of the day. Paddy having made a late decision to walk with us today, did not have time to make a packed lunch. He reluctantly accepted half a butty from John but stoically refused all other offers. |
